holy places and SEVA

"Vrindavan, the Heart of the Universe”.

Paramahamsa Sri Swami Vishwananda

Join us on this inner journey during the auspicious month of Kartik and allow yourself to feel the magic of ‘Diwali‘ or ‘Deepavali’, also known as the “Festival of Lights”, in Vrindavan, the “Land" of Divine Love.

The word 'Deepawali' consists of two words: 'Deep' for “light”, and 'awali' for “a row" -  “a row of lights”. The cherished tradition of illuminating one’s home with lights has an important spiritual meaning: the awareness of the inner light, and the attainment of health, wealth, knowledge, peace and prosperity.

Visiting the numerous pilgrimage sites and ancient temples in Vrindavan, the “Land" of Divine Love, and around, is an enriching and unique inner experience.

Vrindavan has been considered as most sacred place for pilgrims. Vrindavan, which was an uninhabited dense forest for centuries earlier, is today adorned with thousands of temples reflecting its rich culture and proximity to the divine couple Radha-Krishna.

vrindavan

Vrindavan, is a transcendental world. Each tree in the area speaks, as it were, of the love of the Divine Couple Radha-Krishna.

According to the 'Bhagavata Purana', Shri Krishna, along with the 'gopis', had danced the 'rasa' dance on the banks of the Yamuna, in Vrindavan.

In Vrindavan we will visit the main temples and we will take a boat trip in the river Yamuna.

bhandir van

One of the most prominent Krishna pastimes places in Bhandirvan is the 'Bhandirvata Banyan' tree. The most auspiscious moment that happened here, was the marriage of Shri Radha and Krishna, under this Bhandirvata tree.

And in Belvan, during Krishna’s manifest pastimes, there was an abundance of 'bel' (bilva) trees here. While grazing the cows, Shri Krishna and His 'sakhas' would relish the ripe bel fruits.

Here, we will visit the most important places and temples

barsana

Barsana is the place where Sri Radharani, eternal beloved of Lord Krishna enjoyed her transcendental youth pastimes along with her friends and her parents.

Mor Kutir is the place where once Krishna came, searching for Radharani and found her sulking. To pacify her, He started dancing like a peacock. Radharani was so much fascinated by the peacock dance of Krishna that she completely forgot her anger for Krishna and embraced him.

We will visit the temple of Shri Radharani in Barsana and Mor Kurtir.

MAThURA & GOKUL

Lord Krishna was born in a prison cell in Mathura. His father Vasudev aided by goddess 'Yogamaya' brought him out of Mathura, across the raging river Yamuna into the house of Nanda in Gokul.

Gokul is where Krishna spent his early childhood and revealed His divinity.

Here, we will visit birth place of Shri Krishna, His house, the place where He used to play with His friends and other important places.

NADGAON,

TER KADAMB & VRINDA KUND

Nandgaon has been witness to the childhood of Lord Krishna after moving from Gokul.

Another place is Ter Kadamb.

Shri Krishna used to climb and sit on the 'Kadamb' tree while grazing the cows in the afternoon. He used to play the flute and call the names of the cows on the sweet notes of flute itself.

govardhan

Govardhan also called as ‘Giriraj’ mountain descended its name from the Holy Govardhan Hill.

Govardhan is the best of Krishna's servants because it supplies Krishna, Balarama (His elder brother) and cowherd boys, fresh grass for their cows, fruits, roots, minerals and beautiful scenery for their wonderful pastimes.

Lord Krishna held Govardhan Hill on his little finger to save the town from wrath of the god of rains Indra.

It is one of the main holy places and, we will do 'parikram' by 'rickshaw' and visit the main places.

cows seva

Experience every action as to the Divine, it's called 'Seva' (selfless service) and, one of the days of out program we will do Seva, an important part of our "Journery to the Divine", our inner journey.

Lord Krishna loves cows and we will have the blessing and the opportunity of serving cows in Vrindavan by feeding them.

Once, Krishna’s mother Yashoda took Krishna to a cow and prayed to her for Krishna’s well-being just after he had been attacked by the demon Putana. Krishna’s parents knew that serving and protecting cows can alone bring health, wealth, and prosperity. Yashoda demonstrated that the cow protects us from ill will and negative energies.

“One can demolish all his sinful acts by simply offering respect to the cows.” in 'Skanda Purana'
